After some hectic travel before Christmas, we hunkered down and had a quiet Christmas at home. I made a cinnamon roll streusel cake for breakfast. I took the recipe from A Southern Grace and added some cardamon and pecans to the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture. It was yummy and hit the spot while we opened presents.
The cat got into the swing of things, with a little Christmas dress that my mom bought for her. I don't know why it's hysterical to dress up a cat - but it is.
We had time today to sit by the tree and in front of a fire and just enjoy the day.
The husband made a delicious dinner of grilled beer can chicken and cheesy grits. It was tasty and we enjoyed it sitting in front of the fire, listening to Christmas carols.
We finished the day eating German chocolates and drinking egg nog. All in all, a perfect day. Quiet but with all the love and traditions we enjoy on Christmas. I hope everyone had a wonderful day - Merry Christmas to all!
