The big "Frankenstorm" a few months ago let me wrap up some stitching for a group of pillows I'd planned for our basement. We've got kind of a combination rustic and mid century going on in the basement, so I stitched some outdoorsy patterns on denim and then matched them with some cool mod fabric.
I found some great fabric on Jennski's etsy shop. It's from the Mod Century line and I thought it would match up really cool with the patterns.
I didn't really have a pillow pattern so I just winged it a bit. I had a large pillow I wanted to combine a few different fabrics on and a couple of small throw pillows I thought would just use a little fabric for trim.
I think these came together pretty well. I like the contrast between the rustic pattern and the modern fabric.
These were fun to make. I think especially because I didn't use a pattern I just went with what I liked.
I do want to do some additional pillows just showcasing the fabrics. I've got a bolster insert - for which I will almost definately need to use a pattern. I've also got an idea in my head to make a quilt with denim and maybe some basic tree pattern with this fabric as a highlight.
I'm adding these ideas to my always increasing list of projects, but hopefully I'll have an update with some more finished basement projects soon!
