I've had a few changes in my life over the past year. It's made it a little hard to stick with some of the bigger projects I've had in process, but I've squeezed in a few other small projects here and there.
One small project was a little craft exchange with my friend. Our exchanges are always a great way to shake out of any creative slump I'm in. We usually do these around the holidays, but we broke out of our routine to try our hand at painting on black velvet.
For my project I painted a little pic of a village in Italy as a gift to my friend. It didn't come out too bad for a first attempt.
My other quick project was really more of an attempt to solve some storage problems. I needed to wrangle some cat toys and some crafting items and thought I'd try making fabric bowls. I used a decoupage process and really liked the way they came out. It let me use a bunch of scraps that would have been tough to use up in a quilting or other sewing project so I felt like I was also being very earth friendly!
With a few quick projects under my belt I'm ready to dive back in to some larger sewing projects and hopefully ready to dive back into some regular posting!
